Reviews Great Security, Big and Heavy; Know you security needs  by: on: 08-Oct 2009 I am a commuting college student that just needs day time to early evening protection. I just bought my fiancee and I a set of Trek 7.2 FX bikes and was worried about protecting my investments, so I opted for the most protection available. Once I received the pair of these in the mail I realized I over estimated my needs. These chains are Serious... now if you want maximum deterant, these are for you. But for security in high traffic non-overnight protection, I returned these for lightweight key-lock cables. So, before investing in these, know your needs. A little short but a great lock & chain by: on: 05-Feb 2009 I looked at this one and the 4ft version of the noose and ended up buying the longer one. Why? I can leave the lock & chain at work, so weight isn't the main issue, flexibility in locking options is. The longer chain & lock weighs about 8lbs which is a lot if you add it to your shoulder bag, but not so noticeable in my panniers. Anyway get the noose vs the basic chain because with the larger ring on the end of the chain you have more options for locking as the end's don't have to meet in the middle. Also this noose gives you more options than a plain Ulock as well. It's a great lock, but think about the longer version if you don't have to carry it far. Or get two locks, one for leaving at home if you have to lock it outside and another lighter one for taking with you. The Lock Is Excellent but shady seller.  by: on: 29-Oct 2008 The lock and chain are excellent quality. However this seller sells the same thing on eBay for $20.00 less. I will never purchase anything on Amazon again as their A to Z guarantee is a joke. Gets the job done  by: on: 07-Sep 2008 I really like the Kryptonite noose. I park my bike on a college campus, and the noose is long enough to wrap around building pillars and in spots that a U lock wouldn't work. Plus, it helps that my bike looks a lot more secure than the guy next to me that is using a cable lock to lock up only his front wheel.
