Just Stop. The dog might stop if you do. If it does slowly ride or walk away.

Command the dog to come. Say to the dog in a loud, commanding voice, "Come here!" The beast might
mistake you for its owner and, wanting to stay out of trouble, run away.

Squirt It. If you try to outrun the dog, you might slow Fido down with a squirt from your water
bottle--especially if it contains a citrus-based drink.
