The Browning Smartshift transmission is the only automatic, computerized,
external gear system that stays fully engaged at all times, and allows
shifting under full pedal pressure. The system's unique, patented software
can be customized to shift per and individual's preference with the push
of a button.

The Smartshift uses 4AAA batteries and they will last about 500 miles.
Because the system needs mounts for the derailleurs the bicycle needs to
be designed for the system. Currently Grizzley Bicycles sells a bike that
uses the system.
