Cove Bikes

In 1981 owner Chaz Romalis and a few of his hard-core cronies opened up a little bike shop in Deep Cove. Located on the Pacific Ocean’s pristine Indian Arm, at the far eastern edge of North Vancouver, British Columbia, the shop was just a front at first - an excuse so Chaz and his buddies could tell their parents they actually had jobs. Today the Cove is a larger extension of that original reality and an integral part of the North Shore scene.

The G-Spot was first introduced in 1999, the G-Spot has continued to be refined. It has six inches of rear action, sealed bearings on all pivot points, a balanced swing arm and an around the bb main pivot that eliminates pedal feedback and keeps chain tension even. The front triangle this year is build from Easton RAD tube aluminum, creating a stronger, stiffer front-end that can handle the triple crown forks for the triple crown drops. With the choice of either a Fox Vanilla TC or a Fox Vanilla Air rear shock.

The Peeler is new for 2002 and as Cove states it: "Peels up the downhill course". This is a downhill specific bike with nine inches of rear travel and a brand new suspension platform that can handle the biggest hits. The technology still uses Cove's around the bb main pivot but with a rear suspension angle that enables a plush, rising rate of travel. No pedal feedback or chain slack. The super-oversized aluminum frame set made from 6013 T62 aluminum and a Fox Vanilla RC shock Currently the Peeler is in the late development stages.

New for 2002 is the also the Hooker, a dual slalom bike. It has four inches of travel in the rear. A dramatically sloping top tube, gusseted front-end and new suspension platform that joins the lateral stiffness of an around the bb main pivot with a travel arc that keeps chain length the same. The frame is made from 6013/T62 aluminum.
