Fifteen years ago Kestrel introduced their first bike the Kestrel 4000.
In 1988 they built the first carbon mountain bike frame. In 1989 they
developed ultralight "EMS" road frames. This started many developments
to come from Kestrel through today.
The
EMS 300 has one of the most spectacular finishes of any bike at Interbike.
EMS stands for "Special Enhanced Modulus (stiffness)" graphite.
This allows Kestrel to use less material in frame construction, yielding
an almost 25% weight savings over standard Kestrels, while still retaining
strength and stiffness characteristics. The 2.4-pound EMS frame is available
as frameset or complete bike, in Amber Clear or Black finish.
