Rock Shox
Black Box Carbon Crown and Steerer is from the RockShox BlackBox Racing World Cup XC scene. The ultra stiff one-piece all carbon crown and steerer available on SID Race BlackBox Carbon. Extremely stiff, unmatched vibration control, and super light weight.

New for 2002 is the Duke family of forks designed for agressive cross country riding. They featurelight weight and stiffness for aggressive x-country riding. 80 or 100 mm of available travel and 30 mm upper tubes provide precise steering and rigidity. Models: Race, SL, XC, and C.

U-Turn allows change of travel by the turn of an external dial on the top of the fork's left leg. No disassembly or tools required. U-Turn also automatically changes the spring rate of the fork to match the chosen travel. U-Turn is available on Psylo models SL, XC, and C.

Titanium Nitrided upper tubes are now on the SID Race Titanium fork Significant friction reduction, hard surface finish to reduce rock and knocks damage, without much weight.

PTFE upper tubes is a low-friction anodizing process has resulted in a 65 percent reduction in slide friction. Super-slippery finish and long wear. PTFE upper tubes are available on Duke Race, Duke SL, Psylo Race, and Psylo SL.

Improved SID and Psylo performance with longer bushings. SID bottom bushings are doubled in length from 10 mm to 20 mm. For Psylo, upper bushings are increased from 15 mm to 30 mm and the length of lower bushings are tripled to 45 mm. The result - a 40 percent reduction in slide friction and the virtual elimination of chatter.

The Psylo has and adjustable 80/100/125mm travel. The spring on the models are different. The race uses a dual air system, the SL has a coil spring, and the XC and C have hydra coil spring and damping. The Race and SL use Pure System for damping. The SL, XC, and C have what Rock Shox calls the U-Turn. This allows the travel to be adjusted with the turn of a know. All have tunable positive and negative air springs, external rebound adjustment, and low-friction PTFE 30mm aluminum upper-tubes. Weight is between 3.62 lbs for the Race and 4.10 to 4.24 lbs for the others. The Duke for 2002 has an optimized chasis for weight savings. It comes in 4 versions: Race, SL, XC, C. All have 80 or 100mm of travel except for the Race that only has 80mm. The SL, XT and C all share a hydra air spring with and open oil bath for damping. The Race uses a dual air spring. All have tunable positive and negative air springs, external rebound adjustment, and low-friction PTFE 30mm aluminum upper-tubes. Weight is between 3.35 and 3.57 lbs.
