I needed a pair of pants for riding because bushes and the unavoidable fall were tearing my legs up. After floating around the web for a while I came across Cannondale's Cargo Pants. These pants looked great on the net and C'dal has been good to me in the past so I thought I would give them a shot, here's my review.

These pants are made of Nylon with a Polyester/LycraŽ liner. The Nylon outer shell uses a hexagon ripstop pattern to help avoid tears, which was great in the woods, "Damn pricker bushes!" They also held up real nice when gravity decided to teach me a lesson and bring me closer to the trail than I expected. The Polyester/LycraŽ liner was very comfortable and breathed quite well. You can also wear the optional inner shorts that the pants come with. The inner shorts sport a very nicely padded chamois to help keep the boys happy.

Here are some of the features these pants come with that you might find useful:
  • Zipper off legs if you get too hot on the trail or just want shorts.
  • A nice amount of pockets. 2 in front and 2 pouch style on the legs.
  • They come with an inner short with chamois so you can decide if you need that protection or not.
  • Zipper fly so they come off easy (handy if you need to pee in the woods).
  • Lots of draw cords for adjustability. 2 on the waist 1 on each ankle.
  • Water resistant but still very breathable.
Here are the Pros and Cons.
Pros:
  • Very comfortable.
  • I like the pockets. Big enough to carry what I need and the leg pouches have small vents for water to run out, nice touch.
  • Legs zip off real easily and shorts are a nice length.
  • Very durable.
Cons:
  • Ankle draw cords could work a little better. I sometimes got the right leg stuck on the big ring if I didn't really pull that sucker tight.
  • I still like an elastic waistband. The draw cords are nice but once set there is no give when you move around.
  • Call me a safety freak but I would like some reflector material put on the front and back of the pants, this is just my preference.
Over all review:
Great pants and I'm very happy with them. These pants are great for even the winter being that they are water resistant and break the cold wind. I would recommend them highly. As with most of Cannondale's products the quality is very good.
