Polar S710 Xtrainer Plus Hear Rate Monitor

Polar has just raised the standard for heart rate monitors with the release of their new line of S-Series computers. They take the HRM to an entirely new level by allowing athletes to monitor things like V02 max, pedaling efficiency, power, altitude, temperature and training conditions.

Prominent features of the S-Series include nutrition expenditure (calorie counting), which helps athletes plan their nutrition needs during long training sessions and races. The new power output (measured in wattage) feature is the latest in training technology for cyclists. By combining power measurement with heart rate data, cyclists can prepare themselves for competition more precisely than ever. Left/Right balance of power output can even be measured to assure even distribution while pedaling.

The S-Series have a feature called OwnZone. This feature will automatically determine your personal target zone for each workout based on your daily fitness level. It takes into consideration your weight, height, sex, age and determines your fitness level.

The watches can link to your PC to take advantage of additional training tools though an infarred receiver. The receiver, sold separetly will allow you to visually track and graph performance.

The Polar transmitter utilizes a one-piece design that encases all of the electrical components inside the unit. The Polar transmitter is the only true 100% waterproof unit available. Whether you are a swimmer, like to workout in the rain, or just perspire heavily, you can be confident that the Polar Transmitter will continue to work trouble free in wet conditions.
